I wanted to share with you something that happened after our workout this morning.  For the first time since I started working out I understand what they mean when they say working out gives you more energy.  I never felt that way before.  I was usually so exhausted I could hardly move, but today I felt energized...sore, but ready for the day.  So thanks Mitch.  Now about that mile run.....:-)

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about something entitled "Boot Camp". I envisioned a lot of yelling and not the most nurturing environment. However, since day one of camp, I have been nothing but thrilled to wake up and hang out with my newly acquainted friends. After two camps, I have learned so many new exercises that have stirred muscles I didn't know I had! The biggest change for me has occurred in my arms, hips and abs. I feel so much leaner and firm. I'm into a size 4 and my energy level has seen a significant boost. So, whether it's interval training with weights or yoga and Pilates, I look forward to every morning's new adventure.

I have to share w/you a fun story.  My husband and I just got back from a trip to the Denver area - we went to Pike's Peak, Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, the Garden of the Gods, etc., and we did tons of hiking.  The weather was cold and windy (kind of like last night here), but we bundled up and went out anyway.  One day, we were almost back to the car - about a half mile out - and the winds picked up something fierce just as we turned a corner and found ourselves facing it head on.  I just couldn't take the cold wind in my face anymore, so I literally spun around and backpeddled the last quarter mile!  I was able to keep up w/my husband no problem, and prevented some serious wind burn on my face. 
 
I'm pretty sure I would not have even tried that if it weren't for boot camp and Mitch's backward drills!!  Best part - I wasn't sore at all.

This whole experience has been amazing, and I tell anyone who'll listen to me the same thing.  Since last October, I'm down 2 sizes, feel like this time I'm doing it right...and yesterday morning I "ran" the warm-up without stopping/putzing and thought that was even kinda ez!

 I started back in June with Rob Boyce in the Waterford/WInd Lake group.  I have only missed one day since then due to one of my childrten having emergency surgery.  Rob has been the "best thing that ever happened to me"  He really cares about each one of us.  He will do ANYTHING to keep us going.  He constantly talks about nutrition, giving us great ideas.  He has sat down with me alone and gone through my diet and helped me build meal plans just for me.  I have never met anyone so dedicated to changing my life for the good.  He makes me want to be better.   Yes It is hard and somedays almost impossible  but he always tells us that's ok, begin again.  We work really hard, but we laugh alot too.  We have gotten to be really good friends and support each other.  So if you want to change your entire life I recommend you join Rob and the rest of us and we will help you too.  My body and my mind have changed so much and I am a better, wife, mother and employee because of it.  Don't wait you can do the same.   Thanks Rob  from the bottom of my heart!  I owe you one!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would stick to boot camp for this long.  When I first signed up my intention was to commit to the program for one month, get my quick fix and call it quits.  I was stressed out, worked too much and didn’t do a whole lot for myself; everything and everyone else came first.  As a result I managed to pack on the pounds by eating and drinking my stress away. 
 
Four camps later, and I am a lifer.  I am a believer now that people replace one addiction with another – I am forever grateful to you for giving me the one addiction that has positively impacted every facet of my life.   I will never go back.   Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In June of this year I received a post card in the mail about a fitness boot camp for women. I thought it sounded like a great way to get in shape for a family wedding I had coming up. Little did I know what a great thing it would be for me!! Not only was I feeling muscles I didn’t know I had, but I was feeling great and had a ton of energy!! 
Looking back on the last 4 months I realize that boot camp has also helped me in other ways of my life. I had a life changing event happen to me and my 3 teenage sons in January of 2008. My husband of 22 years died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 45. After the shock wore off, I found myself not quite sure who I was.   I wasn’t a wife and a couple any more. I was a person that was the sole supporter of my family. Realizing that every decision I made was extremely important. When Mike died I told myself that I needed to take care of myself because my boys needed me to be there for them. I started making doctor appointments that I had put off and thinking about getting in shape. It seemed like an impossible task to find time to do everything. When boot camp came along, there were no more excuses. What could I possibly be doing at 5:30 in the morning!!!! Rob and all the ladies at camp welcomed me and treated me as family. We work hard and have a lot of fun, too!! I have found that the negative things I was thinking in my head, have turned into positive things. Not only do I feel great, but I feel like I can try anything.
Rob has been an awesome influence in my life and an answered prayer!!!
